Through Women's Eyes Partership with the Sarasota Film Festival Continues
The Gulf Coast Chapter and its Through Women’s Eyes (TWE) International Film Festival is pleased to partner with the Sarasota Film Festival (SFF) for the third year year. TWE's films will be shown on April 14 and 15. The Sarasota Film Festival will be running from April 13 through April 22.
Together, GCC and SFF have 27 years of experience presenting domestic and international films that entertain, inform, challenge and inspire. Through this partnership, the two non-profit groups hope to again broaden and enrich the film festival experience for both filmgoers and filmmakers.
TWE is also pleased to be partnering this year with Women Make Movies. From art houses to festivals to broadcasts, Women Make Movies is the world's leading distributor of films by and about women. WMM's acclaimed Production Assistance (PA) Program assists women directors and producers from concept to completion. Informative, inspirational and alternately heartbreaking and joyous, WMM films bring women's lives to the screen. WMM is "by women, about women, for everyone," thus making this a natural and perfect partnership.
The 13th annual presentation of Through Women's Eyes will feature independent documentaries, narratives, and short films by directors that increase awareness of the lives of women throughout the world. Directors who attend the film festival will lead post-film discussions following the first screenings on April 14 and 15, and celebrate with filmgoers at the Filmmakers' Reception fundraiser on April 14.
Encore screenings of the films will be integrated into the Sarasota Film Festival schedule, which will again host ten days of films plus education programs, special events, talkbacks and panels with some of the leading voices in film today.
